Who is Alberto Culver...
For over 50 years the Alberto Culver Company has competed successfully in the personal care arena with some of the largest companies of the world and has kept pace with the service needs of some of the largest retailers in the world. We have grown from a one-product company - a product that was originally sold only on the West Coast - to an entrepreneurial global company that has created some of the fastest growing brands in our categories. We have been an innovator in product, in advertising and marketing and in cultural programs that motivate and strengthen a workplace. We have seen the value of the company, as measured by its stock price, grow consistently and dramatically. Consistency has also been reflected in the way we have always operated from a core foundation of values and ethics.
Alberto Culver became a public company in 1961 and has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 1965. Despite competition from huge rivals like Proctor & Gamble and Unilever, the company has regularly posted record sales and record earnings years throughout its history.
