Culture drives results.

Since initiating the GDL process (and regularly testing its impact through annual surveys) we have seen sales increase dramatically, profits and margins increase at a rate faster than sales fueled by increases in both productivity and innovation. We have moved quickly to remedy a number of policies and process identified as 'irritants' in our workplace and when a major business issue is surfaced it is assigned to senior executive and regular reports on progress are brought back to the GDL group to be passed on to their groups.

We believe that powerful growth gives us the privilege to care and to give back to our communities. Since its founding, Alberto-Culver has searched for innovative institutions and people who are working to make our communities better places to live and has given them our support. The company focuses on three core areas of giving - education and kids' issues, health care and issues that impact women and their families in the workplace. We have always been less concerned with seeing our names on buildings than in finding the innovator on the cusp of a breakthrough and providing support to those people and programs.
