Who is Alberto Culver...
For over 50 years the Alberto-Culver Company has competed successfully in the arena with some of the largest companies of the world and has kept pace with the service needs of some of the largest retailers in the world. We have grown from a one-product company - a product that was originally sold only on the West Coast - to an entrepreneurial global company that has created some of the fastest growing brands in our categories. We have been an innovator in product, in advertising and marketing and in cultural programs that motivate and strengthen a workplace. We have seen the value of the company, as measured by its stock price, grow consistently and dramatically. Consistency has also been reflected in the way we have always operated from a core foundation of values and ethics.
Alberto-Culver became a public company in 1961 and has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 1965. Even with its competition coming from huge rivals like Procter & Gamble and Unilever, the company has consistently posted record sales and record earnings years throughout its history. In fact, the company throughout its history had doubled its earnings and sales every five to seven years. If you look back over a five, ten or twenty year time span, the company has produced a compound annual growth rate of over 10 per cent in sales and 15 per cent in earnings while continuing to invest to grow.
All of this has been accomplished because everyone who is a part of Alberto-Culver - from the boardroom to the factory floor - understands that all our success flows from the successful nurture of two assets: Brands. People.
